Dr. Andrew Lesser is a twenty-year veteran of the New Jersey public school system and has taught subjects including Band, Choir, Music Theory, General Music, Marching Band, and Music Technology for students in grades K-12 and higher education. Dr. Lesser has served on the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Music Educators Association (NJMEA), Principal Clarinetist and Board Chairman of the Philadelphia Wind Symphony, and Chairman of the New Jersey Young Composer’s Competition.
Dr. Lesser received his Bachelors of Music Education and Performance degree at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, and his Masters in Music from The University of Maryland. Dr. Lesser completed his doctorate in Music Education from Teachers College, Columbia University with the dissertation topic “Video Game Technology and Learning in the Music Classroom”.
Dr. Lesser is the recipient of the Theodore Presser Award, the Action Hall of Honors Award, three Target Arts Education Grants, and is a nominee for the Grammy Music Educator Award. He resides in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, with his wife Meg and sons Daniel and Ethan.
